Carl Bradshaw’s Kulture Ship Sets Sail – A Journey from Jamaica to the World

A constellation of Jamaica’s cultural icons and reggae pioneers will come together in 2026 for Carl Bradshaw’s Kulture Ship, a landmark production charting the island’s musical voyage from Kumina to Dancehall.

At its helm is Carl Bradshaw, Jamaica’s most celebrated film legend (The Harder They Come, Dancehall Queen, Third World Cop). More than a narrator, Bradshaw is a witness and participant in Jamaica’s creative revolution — guiding audiences through the eras that shaped the nation’s cultural identity.

As Musical Director, Bovell brings his visionary sound to the helm. The UK reggae and dub pioneer behind Matumbi and the classic lovers rock movement, Bovell bridges Jamaica’s roots traditions and Britain’s reggae revolution. His presence weaves a sonic dialogue between islands and generations — connecting rhythm, memory, and shared cultural pulse.

Touring in 2026
Kulture Ship will tour major UK festivals and venues through summer and autumn 2026, with special performances during Black History Month.
